2026 Cyanotypes on Glass

Rather than sorting by image type, these prints are defined by how they are processed. Using the same waxed paper negatives as my cyanotypes on paper, they are instead printed on the reverse side of a sheet of glass. The glass is first hand coated with a thin pour of hot gelatin and cyanotype sensitizing solution. Once dried overnight, they are exposed using a UV light, and washed in ice water. The end product is a rich, high-contrast Prussian blue image that gains depth from the light shining through the image, bouncing off the white back sheet, and returning through the glass to your eye.
